We are “Java Legi”, PT Gerbang Artomoro Indonesia produces and sells natural and organic palm sugar. We started our business in 2020, with a passion for providing healthy and delicious sweeteners to our customers. We source our palm sap from our own palm trees, which we grow organically and sustainably in  Java, Indonesia.

What We Do

We make two types of palm sugar: gula aren and gula semut. Gula aren is made from the sap of the Java Legi palm tree, which has a rich, caramel-like flavor and a dark brown color. Gula semut is made from the sap of the coconut palm tree, which has a light, floral flavor and a golden color. Both types of palm sugar are low glycemic, rich in minerals, and good for your health.

Quality is an act, not a habbit

Thousands of our farmers daily leave for the wood before sunrise and skillfully retrieve the palm tree juice to get the premium quality of nature sweetness. Meanwhile, the wives diligently prepare all the cooking equipments so that once the juice is tapped, the idle time of the nectar can be minimized : to maintain its quality (low ph leads to better quality sugar).

Our organic farmer families have been for generations relying on the palm trees for living and mutually, society has been appreciating the benefits.
